This summer, Amos Studios partnered with the Alberta Council on Aging in creating an educational DVD on the prevention of financial abuse. There are several topics covered that affect the elderly: Power of Attorney fraud, Telemarketing scam, Internet fraud, Home Improvement scam, and Identity Theft. The production includes an informative presentation from Brian Trainor, a retired veteran of the Financial Fraud Unit, as well as emotional testimonials from seniors who have been victimized over the years. 419: THE NIGERIAN SCAM Based on real facts, 419: the Nigerian Scam won the Rappahannock Independent Film Festival (Virginia, US) last September. The movie was also nominated for an AMPIA Award (Alberta, Canada) in May 2009. Directed by Sorin Mihailovici, 419: the Nigerian Scam is a movie about the tragedy of a man who lost everything after he got involved in an Internet scheme.
